
MEDITATE ON EACH OF THE MYSTERIES OF MARY'S HOLY ROSARY
| THE FIVE JOYFUL MYSTERIES (Mondays & Saturdays) |
||
| 1) | THE ANNUNCIATION: | The angel Gabriel tells Mary that she will conceive a son. His name shall be called Jesus. |
| 2) | THE VISITATION: | Mary visits and helps her elderly cousin Elizabeth who has conceived a
son in her late years. |
| 3) | THE NATIVITY: | Jesus is born in a stable in Bethlehem. Local
shepherds greet the
Savior. And three kings from the east follow His star to pay homage to Him. |
| 4) | THE PRESENTATION: | Jesus is presented in the temple according to the law of Moses. Simeon took Jesus into his arms and
praised God.

| 5) | THE FINDING OF THE CHILD JESUS IN THE TEMPLE: |
Jesus is lost for three days. Mary and Joseph search sorrowfully
until they find Him in the temple in the midst of the Elders. |
| THE FIVE
LUMINOUS MYSTERIES (Thursdays) |
||
| 1) | BAPTISM OF JESUS IN THE JORDAN: | Humbling
Himself before John the baptist, Christ descends into the waters, the heavens open wide and the voice of the Father declares
Him the beloved Son , while the Holy Spirit descends upon Him. |
| 2) | THE MIRACLE AT CANA: | At the
request of Mary, Christ performs His first public miracle, at the
wedding feast in Cana, when He changes water into wine. |
| 3) | THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE KINGDOM: | Jesus proclaims the coming of the Kingdom of God, calls
all to conversion, and promises forgives of sins to all who draw near to
Him in humble trust. |
| 4) | THE TRANSFIGURATION: | The glory of the Godhead shines forth from the face of Christ as the Father commands the astonished Apostles to “listen to
Him”.

| 5) | JESUS
INSTITUTES THE EUCHARIST: |
Christ offers
His body and blood as food under the signs of bread and wine, and testifies “to the end”
His love for humanity, for whose salvation He will offer Himself in sacrifice.

| THE FIVE SORROWFUL MYSTERIES (Tuesdays & Fridays) |
||
| 1) | THE AGONY IN THE GARDEN: | Jesus prostrates Himself, praying to the Father, and
anguishes over all the sins of the world. |
| 2) | THE SCOURGING AT THE PILLAR: | Jesus is stripped of His garments, His hands are tied and He is beaten
severely. |
| 3) | THE CROWNING WITH THORNS: | A crown of thorns is driven into Jesus' head as
the soldiers mock Him. |
| 4) | JESUS CARRIES HIS CROSS: | The cross is Placed across the shoulders of Jesus.
And He is made to carry it to Calvary.

| 5) | THE CRUCIFIXION: |
Jesus is nailed to the cross. Nails are driven through His hands and feet. His side is pierced with a spear.
|
| THE FIVE GLORIOUS MYSTERIES (Sundays and Wednesdays) |
||
| 1) | THE RESURRECTION: | Jesus rises from the dead.
An empty tomb mystifies all until He presents Himself to His disciples. |
| 2) | THE ASCENSION: | After performing many miracles and being seen by many, Jesus ascends into Heaven while
his disciples watch. |
| 3) | THE DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: | Parted tongues of fire descended on the disciples
and all were filled with the Holy Spirit. |
| 4) | THE ASSUMPTION: | Mary is assumed into Heaven, body and soul.

| 5) | THE CORONATION: |
Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth by the Blessed
Trinity. |
